Spray tops — or smocks — are lightweight, waterproof jackets designed for dinghy sailing: they protect from wind and spray without the bulk of a heavy oilskin, ensuring total freedom of movement during manoeuvres, gybes and hiking out. They are the favourite garment of racers on windy days.

The smock construction, pulled over the head, eliminates front zips prone to leaks: neoprene or latex cuffs, an adjustable neck and a drawcord waist seal water out. Fabrics range from breathable water-repellent to Gore-Tex membranes for the most extreme conditions.
